SaaS Solutions that Will Save You Hours of Work…Without Denting Your Budget
These days, the sheer amount of solution-based software is endless; SaaS and software companies have entered and disrupted just about every department and function of an enterprise. With information overload on the available options, it is becoming harder and harder to find the programs that will benefit your business, especially when you are facing a limited budget and heavier schedule. Allow me to share some of my favorite solutions that will make your life a little easier without breaking the bank.
QuickBooks Online
This first one may seem pretty obvious, but QuickBooks Online is my recommended accounting system for start-ups. It’s user-friendly, cloud-based, and doesn’t cost a fortune. One of my favorite features is its ability to connect directly to most major banks and credit card accounts. This assists in automatically bringing in most of the transactions that you’ll need to book in your general ledger on a monthly basis. This is very helpful to see the flow of cash, which is of key importance to start-ups. Its interface is user-friendly and many of the most common tasks don’t take an accountant to complete. The reporting module is user friendly and flexible. You can set up recurring reports and even have them automatically sent out to various parties. Pretty powerful stuff for a “basic” accounting system.
Asana
Once you’ve figured out your accounting system, it’s time to consider a task management application. Asana is a cheap and collaborative tool that thrives on its simplicity. You start by creating a workspace, invite users to the workspace, and then start adding tasks. Yes — it’s that simple to start up. And there is a free version available to download as well.
Slack
In the heyday of remote working, staying connected with your team is mission critical. Slack is a cheap and easy solution that helps facilitate intra-company communication. The best part about it is that it doesn’t have to be with just your company. The Pro version of Slack allows you to communicate with people outside of your organization too. This creates a powerful communication platform that goes beyond the walls of your organization and allows you to quickly connect with, for example, clients or vendors too. Slack also has a free version, so you can try before you buy.
Bill.com
Accounts payable can be a messy and tedious process. Bill.com simplifies all the manual steps of accepting an invoice, inputting the appropriate data, ensuring the data is correct, and making sure that you pay the invoice on time. Bill.com has automated most of those steps for you; you can send invoices directly to a unique email address specific to your company. Those invoices are then read using their software and a transaction is created. Once the invoice is created for you, you can either input the payment options manually, or send a link to the payee for them to input their own information. Paying people is as easy as clicking a button. Are you ready for the best part? Bill.com automatically syncs with QuickBooks Online too!
All of the above tools should give you a head start when it comes to making sure that you have everything you need to get off on the right foot. But now I want to know: what are some of your favorite tools?
